Chalki is a small island in the Dodecanese (Twelve Islands) group, located very close to Rhodes. Still untouched by mass tourism Chalki is the perfect destination for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all holiday. It is very accessible with daily ferries (during the summer months) from the Kamiros Skala harbour on Rhodes and several direct services from Rhodes.
This picturesque tiny island stands out for its traditional architecture, peaceful atmosphere, harbour-front tavernas, restaurants and coffee shops and its beaches. The town centre, Nimporio, has developed around the island’s port area while ruins of the original Chalki village and its hill-top fortress remain just a few kilometres away.
The island boasts many small monasteries which are hidden treasures, each with their own story.
Chalki is undoubtedly one of the best destinations off the beaten tourist trail in Greece.
